Giving up on Main Stream Media and What to Do Next If you have been working on Bernie Sanders' campaign and paying attention to main stream media (MSM), you have probably come to the realization that MSM is a propaganda tool for the oligarchy. The most obvious examples are the media blackout of Sanders' huge rallies, record breaking donations, and landslide wins in places like Michigan. I cancelled my subscription to the New York Times and the local paper. I am weary of paying to have propaganda delivered to my doorstep. I have bought some digital access (Washington Post) and I'm a long-time subscriber to the New Yorker. I get my news the way most people do these days - from my Facebook stream. The posts provide links that lead me back into the jungle of MSM, but at least it's filtered for me by my almost 3994 "friends." Twitter also provides fast breaking news stories. For election coverage I turn to The Young Turks (TYT). The Guardian, published from the UK, and Al Jazeer, originating from Qatar, are legitimate MSM sources that seem to cover the news with much greater balance than US originated news, often covering stories that get little attention here. Other online publications I find useful include International Business Times (IBT), Democracy Now, The Intercept, Counter Punch, Inquisitr, Bipartisan Report and Common Dreams.
